Volunteering in a COVID-19 ICU as a medical student

Medical students across the country supported the health systems, with some volunteering in hospitals when called. One student tells us what it was like on a COVID-19 ward and why she’ll take that experience with her in the future.

The team and I were transformed, from a smiling bunch of individuals to a squadron of blue gowned, masked, anonymous warriors.
