The podcasting revival is an opportunity to create new learning experiences for medical students. Dr Shri Pathmakanthan and medical student Hannah Clarke share their journey creating an expanding medical podcast library.

Making PodDoc is a labour of love. It’s a creative process and there’s an art to being succinct and engaging.

Dr Shri Pathmakanthan

Dr Shri Pathmakanthan has been a consultant gastroenterologist at University Hospital Birmingham for 18 years. He qualified in Dublin where he obtained his MRCPI and went on to complete his MD at the University of Nottingham then completing his training in Sheffield. He enjoys teaching, contributing to research and working as part of a team to improve gastroenterology services in the city of Birmingham. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, cooking, reading books, listening to podcasts and supports Aston Villa.

Hannah Clarke

Hannah Clarke is a final year medical student at the University of Birmingham. She is an aspiring surgeon with interests in orthopaedics and general surgery. She enjoys teaching younger years and contributing on committees for surgery, paediatrics and obstetrics and gynaecology. She is a big fan of music and enjoys going to the pub.
